Jeter, Grandy on pace to start for AL

Derek Jeter has received the second-highest number of votes in American League All-Star balloting (3,359,875), as of Monday's latest results.

Jeter, a 12-time All-Star, is well ahead of Rangers shortstop Elvis Andrus (2,008,678). The Captain is looking to become the fifth AL infielder to earn at least seven consecutive fan-elected starts at one position.

Curtis Granderson (2,818,535) trails Texas' Josh Hamilton (5,414,880) by a wide margin for the most votes among AL outfielders, but still stands to become the first Yankees outfielder to ever make back-to-back fan-elected starts.

Robinson Cano (2,565,046) trails Rangers second baseman Ian Kinsler (2,580,306) by just over 15,000 votes in the AL's most hotly contested race. Cano is seeking his third straight start.

According to the Yankees, Mark Teixeira is third in the voting among AL first basemen.

The All-Star Game will take place Tuesday, July 10, in Kansas City.
