First pitch: You're GM for a day ...

Yankees GM Brian Cashman was asked by ESPN's Jim Bowden on his SiriusXM radio show what he's looking to do at the trading deadline. Cashman pretty much said he's not sure yet.
That's understandable.
The Yankees have won 10 games in a row -- their longest streak since May 2005 -- so they’re flying high. Plus, the deadline is still about six weeks away.
Nevertheless, put yourself in Cashman's shoes. Your starting rotation has been phenomenal in June, pitching to a 1.97 ERA -- including a 2.09 mark during the winning streak.
Your offense, despite not being able to hit with runners in scoring position, is laden with talented players who are capable of putting up big numbers.
And your bullpen -- despite not having Mariano Rivera and, for a while, David Robertson -- has been lights out with Rafael Soriano and a bunch of no-names stepping up.
So what do you need? How can you improve this juggernaut of a ballclub?
Brett Gardner will hopefully be back after the All-Star break, and Robertson's return should only strengthen the 'pen.
Another starter? Another outfield bat? Perhaps another bullpen arm? Or maybe, just maybe, you stand pat.
The Yankees have turned it around after a slow start. And it doesn't look like they'll need to sell off the farm to add a real impact player -- at least as of June 19, anyway.
The Yankees, at 41-25, look like a contender once again. It'll be up to Cashman to figure out what will put them over the top as they aim for World Series championship No. 28.
Question of the day: If you were Cashman, what would you look to acquire at the July 31 trading deadline?
Up now: Andrew Marchand's column about CC Sabathia's nine-inning, two-run, 10-strikeout gem and what it means for a team flying on all cylinders right now. There's also plenty on the Roger Clemens not guilty verdict -- including reaction from all parties involved, and columns by Wally Matthews and Ian O'Connor.
On deck: Mathews and Johnette Howard have you covered from the stadium Tuesday night. It's Hiroki Kuroda versus Tim Hudson in the Bronx with a chance for the Yankees to move to 11 wins in a row for the first time since 1985, per ESPN Stats & Information’s Katie Sharp. Clubhouse opens at 3:20 p.m. ET for the 7:05 start. As always, thanks for reading.
