All of the optimistic predictions about Andy Pettitte possibly coming back in 8-10 weeks after suffering a fractured fibula in Wednesday's game went out the window when the Yankees placed the 40-year-old left-hander on the 60-day disabled list today, meaning he is not eligible to come back until Aug. 28. In addition, GM Brian Cashman, appearing on The Michael Kay Show on ESPN New York 98.7 FM this afternoon, said he expected Pettitte to be out until about Sept. 1.
