LOS ANGELES -- The suddenly starting-pitching-thin Yankees have added a familiar face.

The Yankees have claimed right-hander Chris Schwinden off waivers from the Indians.

It marks the third time this month Schwinden has been claimed off waivers. First, the Blue Jays grabbed him from the Mets. Then the Indians grabbed him from Toronto. And now Schwinden is Yankees property because Cleveland needed a 40-man roster spot for another ex-Met, Vinny Rottino, who has been optioned to Triple-A Columbus.
Adam Rubin has covered the Mets since 2003. He's a graduate of Mepham High School on Long Island and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He joined ESPNNewYork after spending 10 years at the New York Daily News.
