It's good to be home again for Robinson Cano.
Cano, of course, was booed lustily earlier this week at the Home Run Derby and All-Star Game in Kansas City, by Royals fans who were upset that he didn't pick Billy Butler for the AL's Derby team.
But since he's been home, Cano has heard nothing but cheers. And deservedly so.
Cano went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and an RBI single in the Yanks' 5-3 win on Saturday.
He extended his team-leading 17-game hitting streak with a first-inning homer that tied the game at 2. He then put the Yankees up 5-3 with an RBI single in the sixth.
Overall, Cano is hitting .391 during his 17-game streak, with five doubles, six homers and 19 RBIs.
"He's just really turned it on and been huge for us," Joe Girardi said of Cano, who had a slow start to the season (he hit .264 in April with one homer and four RBIs). "It's important because you need different guys to carry you."
Lately, Cano and Mark Teixeira have been doing the carrying for the Yanks. Teixeira had five RBIs in Friday's win.
Cano has 10 homers in his last 23 games.
STEADY FREDDY: Freddy Garcia didn't have a great outing, allowing five hits and three runs in five innings. But the veteran settled down after a shaky two-run first to get the victory on Saturday, improving to 4-2 on the season.
Girardi said he thought Garcia "threw the ball pretty well" against the Angels.
That's nothing new for the veteran right-hander. Garcia is now 16-3 with a 2.66 ERA in 28 career starts against the Angels. According to Elias Sports Bureau, that's the highest winning percentage (.842) of any pitcher with a minimum of 20 starts against the Angels.

Classic A-Rod would get an inordinate amount of blame because of failure at end of games when he was big reason the moment was possible.

Very A-Rodish game by Carmelo: He was great enough to put himself in position to fail in the fourth.
