Vinny "Bald Vinny" Milano is a Bleacher Creature. So he's loud by nature.

But something made Milano uncharacteristically silent Wednesday afternoon.

Supreme Court Justice and Bronx native Sonia Sotomayor stopped by the bleachers to hang with Milano and take part in the crew's 'Roll Call.'

"I was speechless when I met her," Milano said.

Sotomayor was equally moved by her visit to the Stadium.

The judge, who grew up in a housing project in the South Bronx, remembered coming to the old Yankee Stadium and cheering on the Bombers as an anonymous fan.

But her days of anonymity are over. On Wednesday, Sotomayor was recognized by several fans, who screamed out 'Justice' and 'Sonia' at her.

"There is quite a chord that gets touched," Sotomayor said. "It brings a little bit of a tear to your eye."

Sotomayor participated in the 'Roll Call' on Wednesday. According to Milano, she was a natural.

"She's obviously a huge Yankee fan and we were over the moon to have her," said Milano, who jokingly asked Sotomayor for a 'Get Out Of Jail Free' card. "She got what we were about."

Sotomayor called the Creatures the Yankees' "greatest fans" -- an opinion that didn't sound as if it was left open to interpretation.

She was particularly impressed by the Creatures' ability "to sit out there on days when we're losing and not to take it out on our players."

"And they show it every game, every time they come out," she added.

Sotomayor is no stranger to baseball. In addition to growing up a Yankees fan, she also played a significant role in ending the 1994 Major League Baseball labor dispute by issuing an injunction against the owners in 1995.

"She has quite a history," Milano said.

Sotomayor was happy to share her story with Milano and soak in the scene in right field on Wednesday. She had previously watched the Yankees beat the Nationals in Washington D.C. in June, and was invited to a home game by Yankees PR director Jason Zillo.

Sotomayor said she was moved by what she saw from her old team on Wednesday.

"The comfort that they gave me most of my life in watching them ... continues," she said.
