They've already survived the losses of Mariano Rivera, Brett Gardner, Michael Pineda, and for at least another few weeks, Andy Pettitte and Alex Rodriguez.

But can the Yankees possibly survive the loss of CC Sabathia?

At this point, we don't know how long Sabathia will be out, and assuming the Yankees will DL him retroactively to Aug. 9, the best-case scenario is that the big fellow will miss just two starts and be back to face the Indians in Cleveland on Aug. 24.

But what if the injury is worse than the Yankees believe, or are telling us?

What if he's out for a month, or for the rest of the season? What if he can't pitch in October?

Does that spell the end of the Yankees' chances for 2012?

In case you missed it, you can read my column from yesterday detailing how the Yankees have managed to overcome every body blow the baseball gods have thrown at them so far this season.

But is this the one that will bring them down?

We'd like to hear your opinion on how far the Yankees can go without CC, if that's the way this thing shakes out. Let us know in the comments section below.

Up now: All the news on Sabathia's injury, as well as my column on a good news/bad news day at the Rogers Centre.

Coming soon: Lineups and pregame news leading into the series finale between the Yankees and Blue Jays, Phil Hughes (11-9, 4.10) facing LHP J.A. Happ (0-1, 6.35), first pitch at 1:07 p.m.
