Alex Rodriguez went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts out of the leadoff spot and played third base in his second minor-league rehab game for Class A Tampa on Saturday night.

A-Rod is 0-for-7 with a walk, a run scored and four Ks in two games for the Yankees’ Class A club.

Yankees GM Brian Cashman said before Saturday’s game it was likely that Rodriguez would DH on Sunday morning, but A-Rod told the New York Daily News that he won’t play in that game.

According to the Daily News, Rodriguez said he came out of the game fine and took batting practice in the cage afterward. A-Rod said he would talk to Cashman.

It is unknown at this point whether Rodriguez will rejoin the Yankees in St. Petersburg for their series against the Rays, though manager Joe Girardi said it was “definitely a possibility.”
