Robinson Cano is a go for tonight's game against the Tampa Bay Rays after coming through batting practice in good shape. With right-hander Alex Cobb starting for Tampa, manager Joe Girardi had pencilled Cano's name into the cleanup spot in his lineup as the DH, but said "I'm not 100 percent sure Robbie's playing tonight. I want to see how he comes through BP.''

Cano evidently came throught it OK, although he did shrug and make a face when trainer Steve Donohue asked him how he felt after his first round of swings. But Cano took several more rounds and declared himself good to go for tonight.
