If the postseason began today ...

... which, of course, it doesn't, but since it's always fun to play the "what-if?" game, the Yankees would be playing the Chicago White Sox in Game 1 of the ALDS. They've lost 5 of 7 to the ChiSox this season, including being swept at The Cell three weeks ago.

So even though the Yankees escaped Baltimore atop the AL East, maybe it's better that the postseason does not begin today.
