A-Rod passes Gehrig on runs list

With his long, loud two-run homer in the eighth inning, Alex Rodriguez passed Lou Gehrig on the all-time runs scored list.

Rodriguez has scored 1,889 runs in his career and is now in sole possession of ninth place on the all-time list. He also moved into a tie for 37th place on the all-time hit list with 2,884, tying Zack Wheat.

Rodriguez is now five RBIs shy of tying Stan Musial for fifth place on the all-time RBI list and is 60 runs shy of tying Musial for eighth place on the all-time runs list.

Lastly, he's 13 homers shy of tying Willie Mays for fourth place on the all-time home run list.
