Teixeira: Sim game next

Joe Girardi said Mark Teixeira, sidelined for the past 15 games with a lingering calf strain, had a good day down in Tampa, running the bases and going through other drills. "He felt pretty good," Girardi said. "Maybe he'll get in a simulated game pretty soon."

But Girardi could not say if that simulated game, which would be in Tampa, would take place on Thursday or over the weekend, and could not offer a date for Teixeira's return to the Yankees. "I'm not erasing any ideas," he said. "If they tell us he's healthy, we'll bring him back."
