Playoff scenarios

Before I go down to the clubhouse, let's go over a few playoff scenarios.

1) If the Yankees win tonight and the Orioles lose, the Yankees are the AL East champions.

2) The Yankees can not clinch home field tonight.

3) If the Yankees win the next two games, they will own home field.

4) If the Yankees were to split their next two games and the Orioles were to lose one and the Rangers or the A's were to win their next two, Texas or Oakland would be the No. 1 seed.

In this scenario, Texas, with two wins, would beat the Yankees because of one more win. The A's, with two more wins and a Yankee loss, would have the same record as the Yankees and own the tiebreak.

There are other scenarios, but hope this helps.
