Girardi: No comment on A-Rod report

Yankees manager Joe Girardi refused to comment on a published report in today's New York Post that said Alex Rodriguez was flirting with two women in the stands at Yankee Stadium while his teammates were losing the first game of the ALCS to the Detroit Tigers on Saturday.
He also said his decision to bench A-Rod for tonight's Game 3 against Detroit ace Justin Verlander, who A-Rod hit two home runs off this season, was purely performance-based.
"His struggles off of right-handers in the postseason have been trouble," Girardi said, "And (Eric Chavez) has had success off (Verlander) too. So I decided to go with Chavy."
Pressed on the issue of whether Alex's alleged extracurricular activities factored into his decision, Girardi said, "There are no other issues."
