INDIAN WELLS, CA. -- So far, not much has happened here since the GMs have been in meetings all day and the agents are just starting to float in. Casey Close, Derek Jeter's agent, is here and has promised to provide a briefing later on the captain's condition as he recovers from the broken ankle he suffered in Game 1 of the ALCS.

Brian Cashman, along with all the other GMs, will be available about 7 p.m. N.Y. time, and considering the issues Joe Girardi touched on earlier today at Yankee Stadium, could provide some interesting fodder, although a blockbuster deal remains unlikely.

No Scott Boras sightings yet, and for those of you seeking Mets info, their GM, Sandy Alderson, isn't expected to arrive until tomorrow but his assistant GM, John Ricco, is here and hopefully will elaborate on the news of the Jason Bay buyout that came down this morning.
