NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- In a wee few hours, we will be talking with Joe Girardi and Brian Cashman. In the meantime, here is a rumor roundup from things I and others have heard:

1. Could Kevin Youkilis be a possibility for the Yankees? YES' Jack Curry tweeted the Yankees' have checked in with Youkilis' agent Joe Bick. Colleague Joe McDonald talked with Bick, who declined to name any teams he has spoken with.

In 2012, Youkilis hit .235 with 19 homers and 60 RBIs, playing for two teams and with one bad back. Youkilis, 33, made $12.5 million in 2012. He'll make less next season, I would presume, but he may want two years. The Yanks won't do that.

I don't see Youkilis to the Yankees happening. But who knows? If he does come to the Bronx, maybe he can locker next to Joba.

2. On the outfield front, colleague Jerry Crasnick tweeted the Yankees have been in contact with Shane Victorino's agent. I don't see this one happening, either. Victorino, 32, doesn't seem like a good enough replacement for Nick Swisher. He has limited power and only had a .321 on-base percentage in '12.

UPDATE: Victorino has agreed to a three-year, $39 million deal with the Red Sox. Goodness, that seems like a bad move.

3. For those who wanted the Yankees to get rid of hitting coach Kevin Long, well, they aren't doing that. Sources tell me they are considering adding an assistant hitting coach. This is the trend in the game.

4. An official from another AL East team doesn't believe the Yankees will be quiet this offseason, "Come on, they're the Yankees, they'll do something." I agree.

Plenty more to come so keep checking back. For now, I'll leave you with a question:

Would you want Youkilis on the Yankees?
