Chris Dickerson has been officially released from the Yankees. A little more than a week ago, the Yankees designated him for assignment, meaning he was either going to be traded or released.

With no trades out there, Dickerson is now free to flee the Yankees. He was unlikely to ever make the team in 2013 because the Yankees' three starting outfielders are all lefties, like Dickerson.
