The Yankees are talking with Travis Hafner, a source confirmed

Hafner could possibly take the role of Raul Ibanez as a left-handed hitting DH. Hafner can play some first, too.

Hafner's career has been derailed by injuries. He only played in more than 100 games once in the five seasons.

In 2012 with the Indians, he hit .228 with 12 homers and 34 RBIs in 66 games. He turns 36 in June.

WEEI in Boston first reported the Yankees' interest.
