TAMPA, Fla. -- Several unusual sights will be on display when the Yankees take the field for today's home opener against the Blue Jays. They are as follows:
1. NEW YORK YOUKEES: Something Yankees fans never tought they would see -- and judging by my Twitter feed, something many still can't believe they will see -- will be seen today when Kevin Youkilis plays his first game in a Yankees uniform. Youk will play third and bat sixth in the lineup.
2. NEW DH: We also get out first look at Travis Hafner, the new left-handed DH, who will bat seventh. And the only gloves he will wear are batting gloves; no chance he will play the field.
3. MELCOME BACK: Former Yankee Melky Cabrera, who was on his way to winning the NL batting title before he made the mistake of testing positive for PEDs, is making the trip with the Blue Jays today. The Jays are also sending Brett Lawrie and Adam Lind, but no Jose Bautista -- Joey Bats stayed in Dunedin for a split-squad game against the Orioles.
4. THE WATER CRISIS IS OVER: The agua is flowing again in Tampa. The city lifted its restrictions on water use two days after a squirrel fried itself on an electric wire, knocking out a treatment plant. The good news is, the coffee machine at The Boss was turned back on again this morning.
