Yankees minor successes

TAMPA, Fla. -- In addition to Phil Hughes, three other Yankees regulars stayed behind today to play in minor-league games over at the Himes Ave. complex:

-- Pitching for the Class A Tampa Yankees, Hiroki Kuroda worked seven scoreless innings, allowed seven hits, walked no one and struck out five. He threw 88 potches, 65 for strikes.

-- Francisco Cervelli, who was sent to Himes to catch Kuroda, went 1-for-4 with a single and a walk.

-- Travis Hafner, who went from one field to the other at the Himes complex taking swings for both Yankees affiliates (Hughes pitched for their low-Class A Charleston club) went 2-for-5 wit a home run, a double and two walks.
