TAMPA, Fla. -- Derek Jeter came to bat four times and grounded out four times as a DH for the AAA Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders today in a game against the Pittsburgh Pirates' Indianapolis affiliate. It was his first appearance in a game since he was scratched from the lineup last Tuesday just before a preseason game between the Yankees and Philadelphia Phillies.

I'll have a full account of Jeter's day up on the website soon, including The Captain's good deed for the day, and his special request to the Yankee beat writers covering the game. Check back in an hour or so.
