With Alex Rodriguez due to report to Tampa on Monday, the Yankees sent out a release saying that neither fans nor the media will be allowed to witness the rehab work at the minor league complex. They didn't specifically mention A-Rod, but the timing of the reminder seems a little more than coincidental.

As a reminder, please note that the practice fields at the Himes Complex in Tampa will be closed to all media and fans for all workouts/rehab assignments being conducted at the facility.

Our security has been instructed to cordon off one side of the sidewalk leading into and out of the facility for media use only. Fans will not be permitted in this designated media area.

Extended spring games held at the Himes Complex are open to the public. Access to the facility will occur shortly before first pitch of each game. Media covering extended spring games will be given a designated area from which to watch games.

Curtis Granderson -- who could be back on the move from center to left -- is playing in extended spring games. Mark Teixeira is moving to the next stage of his rehab from his wrist injury in Tampa on Monday. He will be hard-pressed to return until late this month or early June. Francisco Cervelli (hand) is already there and Kevin Youkilis and Ivan Nova might join them, but Joe Girardi wasn't entirely sure of their plans.

Remaining in Tampa, Michael Pineda (shoulder) has been touching the mid-90s with his fastball.

Derek Jeter (ankle) is still not ready to begin doing extensive workouts because he remains in his protective boot.
