Cervelli (elbow) shut down for two weeks

MINNEAPOLIS -- Yankees catcher Francisco Cervelli, who has been on the disabled list since April 27 with a broken right hand, has been shut down for at least two weeks with what manager Joe Girardi called "a stress reaction" in his right elbow.

Girardi said the injury was likely to delay Cervelli's return to the Yankees' lineup until August at least.

A stress reaction is similar to -- and in some cases, a precursor to -- a stress fracture, the injury that has laid up Derek Jeter since spring training.
