NEW YORK -- Friday night's series opener between the Yankees and Twins was suspended in the bottom of the fourth inning, with the game still scoreless.
Rain began falling right around the start of the game, and grew progressively worse. Play was finally halted at 8:42 p.m., after Zoilo Almonte led off with a fly out to center field.
Yankees starter Hiroki Kuroda battled through four innings, working around five hits and a walk. The Twins had a runner in scoring position in every frame, yet couldn't push one across.
