Well, they are going to be challenged against Donnie Baseball's first-place Dodgers.
Greinke (8-3, 3.49 ERA) and Kershaw (10-6, 1.96) against this Yankees lineup almost sounds unfair. But there are some guys who have had success against Greinke. Robinson Cano has six hits in 16 at-bats off him (.375), while Ichiro Suzuki is at .320 in 25 at-bats. Lyle Overbay is a .348 batter in 23 at-bats.
This is the start of a long road trip. The Yankees' next home series begins on Aug. 9. Between now and then, they play two games in Los Angeles and three in San Diego before three games in Chicago against the White Sox.
UP NOW: Alex Rodriguez's suspension could be announced soon. Here is our latest story, as his lawyer said on ESPN NY 98.7 FM that he will appeal if suspended. Joba Chamberlain has little trade value, but may go anyway.
ON DECK: At 10 a.m., Mark Simon will delve into Mariano Rivera's numbers against the Dodgers. Wallace Matthews is in Hollywood to cover all the action. Game time is 10:10 p.m. ET. I'm headed to Tampa to catch up with A-Rod.
QUESTION OF THE DAY: In your mind, what would be a successful road trip?
