BALTIMORE -- Here is the lineup Joe Girardi is sending out for tonight's game against the Orioles and their right-handed starter, Chris Tillman:

Brett Gardner CF
Alex Rodriguez 3B
Robinson Cano 2B
Alfonso Soriano LF
Curtis Granderson DH
Eduardo Nunez SS
Lyle Overbay 1B
Ichiro Suzuki RF
Austin Romine C

CC Sabathia LHP

Alex Rodriguez has batted second 2,331 times in his career, and 217 times as a Yankees, but not since 2006 -- August 26, 2006, to be precise -- when the Yankees were managed by a different guy named Joe. Torre, that is. This Joe, Girardi that is, said A-Rod was batting second to tonight to break up the parade of lefties at the top of his batting order against Tillman . . . Chris Stewart (sore left foot) is out of the lineup and Girardi said, probably unavailable tonight.
