Girardi: A-Rod's legs aren't great

NEW YORK -- Yankees manager Joe Girardi elected to pinch-hit Ichiro Suzuki for Alex Rodriguez in the eighth inning.

Girardi’s reasoning?

“[Alex’s] legs aren’t great. So I pinch-hit for him. He said his legs weren’t great,” Girardi said. “We’ll go day by day. We have a responsibility to baseball tomorrow and we take that very seriously. He just told me his legs weren’t great and he was going to take care of them. So I said, ‘OK, go take care of them.’”

With just four meaningless games remaining, will the Yankees elect to shut the 38-year-old down for the season?
