No matter if Alex Rodriguez files a suit, according to our legal analyst, Lester Munson, it won't impact his arbitration case.

"Both Rodriguez and MLB will be bound by the decision of the arbitrator," Munson said in an e-mail. "If the arbitrator upholds and approves the 211-game suspension, he will be suspended for 211 games. He may file suit somewhere. But lawsuits attacking arbitrations that come from union agreements are frivolous suits. The case he filed today would move along slowly while he is on suspension. It would be reached for trial in 2015 or 2016."
