Alex Rodriguez spent 45 minutes with our own Wallace Matthews on Thursday night, saying that he feels as if his lawyers won, but that the process is rigged.

A-Rod will likely have to wait until 2014 to learn the outcome of the grievance hearing into his 211-game suspension by Major League Baseball, but the New York Yankees slugger passed his own verdict on the performance of his legal team:

"We crushed it," Rodriguez said. "They had nothing."

But his elation with his lawyers was tempered somewhat by the realization that his fate now is in the hands of arbitrator Fredric Horowitz.

"Now that's it's over, as far as the state of the case, how the evidence went in, how my team challenged it, I feel great," he said. "The only thing that concerns me is the process."
