Carlos Beltran is in Kansas City meeting with the Royals. Buster Olney tweeted that there is a feeling among other clubs that the Royals are offering a three-year, $48 million contract and that Beltran will wind up ending back where he started.
We asked a source if the Yankees would budge off their two-year limit for Beltran and the source reiterated that the Yankees will not go three years and $16 million per year for the 36-year-old Beltran. The source sounded pretty emphatic, too.
