TAMPA, Fla. -- The Yankees play their final spring training game this afternoon against the Marlins, and here is the lineup Joe Girardi is sending out:
Derek Jeter SS
Ivan Nova RHP
Ellsbury is in the lineup for the first time in 15 days, and where you expect to find him, in the leadoff spot. But it's a bit of a surprise to see Gardner batting seventh; the widespread belief was Girardi would bat him ninth so that he and Ellsbury would bat consecutively after the lineup turns over. We'll get the manager's reasoning on this after the game -- he does not talk to the media before spring training home games -- and find out if this is the lineup he will send out Opening Day on Tuesday night in Houston.
