NEW YORK -- The Yankees optioned Austin Romine to AAA Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Wednesday, and recalled RHP Shane Greene to help shore up the bullpen weakened by David Robertson's trip to the DL and Tuesday's 14-5 loss to the Orioles, in which Vidal Nuno worked 3 1/3 innings in relief of Ivan Nova.

Joe Girardi said Nuno will not be available until Saturday at the earliest.

Greene nearly made the club out of spring training, in which he showed a fastball that hit 95. He found out he was coming to New York late Tuesday night -- he said he did not even know Robertson was injured until yesterday -- and flew up from Tampa this morning.

Greene will be available to work Wednesday if needed.
