Ellsbury is getting his first DH day after playing seven of the first eight games of the season in center field. Girardi said he was not planning to rest Ellsbury at all in the Yankees' opening stretch of 13 games without a day off. ... David Robertson, on the DL with a groin strain, played catch before the game briefly and said all went well. No schedule yet for him to resume throwing off a mound. ... Girardi said the Yankees will carry 13 pitchers through this opening stretch, hence the decision to send Austin Romine down to Scranton and promote hard-throwing righty reliever Shane Greene. ... Girardi said Vidal Nuno, a starter by trade, is unavailable to pitch again until Saturday at the earliest after working 3 1/3 innings in Tuesday's 14-5 loss to the Orioles. ... All of the Yankees' first eight games this season have been decided by the sixth inning. They are 4-0 when leading after six, 0-4 when trailing after six.
