Notes: Brendan Ryan will go out on a rehab assignment on Sunday. The Yankees want Ryan to receive 50 at-bats before he is called up. Ryan has been out all season with a spine injury. ... Vidal Nuno starts on Saturday. He calls the opportunity to be in the Yankees' rotation for an extended period, "A dream come true." Nuno, who was once cut by the Indians organization as a minor leaguer, said the difference in his career came when he added weight and strength. Nuno weighs 195 and throws 88-89 mph. In high school, he was at 145 and threw 84-85. He has slowly added the weight and velocity through the years. Nuno's chance in the rotation is a result of Ivan Nova's season ending elbow surgery. ... David Phelps will start for the Yankees on Wednesday against the Mariners, in place of the suspended Michael Pineda.
