Game 61: Yankees (31-29) at Royals (29-32)

KANSAS CITY -- David Phelps goes for the Yankees and seeks to end a personal three-game losing streak. Kansas City counters with left-hander Danny Duffy (3-5). Here's a lineup that's certain to be more acceptable to fans eager to see Derek Jeter one last time at Kauffman Stadium. He was out of Friday's lineup.

Brett Gardner, LF

Jeter, SS

Jacoby Ellsbury, CF

Mark Teixeira, 1B

Carlos Beltran, DH

Yangervis Solarte, 3B

Alfonso Soriano, RF

Brian Roberts, 2B

John Ryan Murphy, C

Phelps, P

NOTES -- If the Yankees had to pick a place to start a 10-game road trip, it might be Kansas City. Since the start of the 2009 season, they're 12-6 in K.C. Going back to the start of 2006, they've won 21 and lost 10 in what locals like to think off as the barbeque capital of America. One of their few losses in K.C. in recent years belongs to Phelps, who suffered a 4-3 defeat on May 3, 2012, in his first career start. Beltran, 0-7 since returning from the DL two games ago, was dropped from third to fifth in Saturday's batting order.
