Lights off, Yankees-Athletics delayed

OAKLAND -- The game between New York Yankees and the Oakland Athletics is being delayed because a bank of lights above the left-field stands went dark in the fourth inning.

Yankees manager Joe Girardi went out to confer with the umpires as he team took the field for the bottom of the fourth, and then pulled his players off the field.

The delay began at approximately 11:19 p.m. New York time, with the Athletics leading, 2-1.

UPDATE: The delay is over. It lasted 38 minutes and Hiroki Kuroda came back to the mound.
