NEW YORK -- Carlos Beltran still hasn't played a game in right field since returning from the disabled list earlier this month, and there is no indication that he will anytime soon.

Beltran, who missed 21 games with bone spurs in his elbow, is a full-time DH these days. However, he is still in the midst of a throwing program, with the hope of playing the outfield again at some point this season.

"I can't really give you a guess," Joe Girardi said when asked about Beltran's return to the field. "He'll continue to play catch here. I don't really have a date. We are trying to lengthen him out, in a sense, where he is throwing farther and increase the intensity, but we don't really have a date. It is kind of a day-by-day thing. We told him if he feels anything we'd probably need to stop him. So I don't really have a date."

Girardi has turned to a platoon with Ichiro Suzuki and Alfonso Soriano in right.

Jeter Meter: Derek Jeter is 13-for-32 (.406) in his last eight games.

First one to score, wins: That is not quite true, but almost for the Yankees. The Yankees are 14-3 when they lead after the first inning.
