Game 98: Rangers (39-59) @ Yanks (50-47)

NEW YORK -- No Brian McCann, tonight, no problem. Just a scheduled day off.

No Mark Teixeira? Potentially a big problem, since the Yankees' leading HR and RBI producer has a Grade 1 strain of the lat muscle on the left side of his back, and will be given an platelet-rich plasma injection tonight. The Yankees are saying 3-4 days off for Tex, but we'll see.

In the meantime, here's tonight's lineup that will face the injury-depleted Texas Rangers and RHP Miles Mikolas:

Brett Gardner LF

Derek Jeter SS

Jacoby Ellsbury CF

Carlos Beltran DH

Kelly Johnson 1B

Brian Roberts 2B

Ichiro Suzuki RF

Francisco Cervelli C

Zelous Wheeler 3B

Shane Greene RHP

Notes: Joe Girardi said he chose tonight to give McCann the night off -- he played all three games over the weekend against the Cincinnati Reds -- because "Cervy and Greenie have a good little mixture going." Cervelli has caught Greene in both of his starts, including his 7 1/3 scoreless innings against the Baltimore Orioles on July 12 . . . Mikolas, who is making his fourth career start -- he was called up from Triple-A on May 15 when the Rangers lost Matt Harrison to a back injury -- has never faced the Yankees. In his previous three starts, Mikolas has given up 16 earned runs in 14 1/3 innings pitched.
