Game 103: Yanks (54-48) vs. Jays (54-50)

NEW YORK -- Chris Capuano becomes the 11th different pitcher to start a game this season for the New York Yankees when he faces the Toronto Blue Jays in a 1:05 p.m. game Saturday at Yankee Stadium.

The Yankees' lineup:

Brett Gardner, LF

Derek Jeter, SS

Jacoby Ellsbury, CF

Carlos Beltran, DH

Brian McCann, 1B

Chase Headley, 3B

Ichiro Suzuki, RF

Brian Roberts, 2B

Francisco Cervelli, C

Chris Capuano, LHP

NOTES: Only the Colorado Rockies and Texas Rangers, with 13 apiece, have used more starting pitchers than the Yankees this season. ... Counting starters and relievers, Capuano will be the 28th pitcher to appear in a game for the Yankees in 2014. That's not the most in the majors this year, but it does tie a Yankees team record for a full season. The Yankees also used 28 pitchers in 2005, 2007 and 2011. ... The Yankees stayed in their holding pattern on Mark Teixeira, who hasn't played since last Sunday because of a left lat strain. The hope is that Teixeira can hit off a tee Sunday; if he can't, or if it doesn't go well, he could go on the disabled list.
