NEW YORK -- Derek Jeter tied Honus Wagner for sixth on the all-time hits list with his first-inning single. Jeter and Wagner each have 3,430 hits.

If Jeter sticks to his retirement plans, Wagner will likely be the final player Jeter passes because Tris Speaker, at No. 5, has 3,514 hits.

Jeter's 3,430th hit came against the Cleveland Indians' Trevor Bauer. Jeter bounced a grounder toward the middle. Indians shortstop Jose Ramirez ranged to his left and threw off balance to first baseman Carlos Santana.
