NEW YORK -- Mark Teixeira's injured right pinkie will keep him out of his third consecutive game. Teixeira said it is not the stitches that are the issue, but the joint is not right.

"I can't grip a bat," Teixeira said, adding that the pinkie is at "50 percent" before he tested it again Saturday morning.
Both he and manager Joe Girardi said the disabled list is not a consideration yet.
Tanaka tosses: Masahiro Tanaka threw again and didn't report any problems. He will take Sunday off.
Pineda vs. Rogers: Michael Pineda said he feels he is ready to pitch in the majors again, but the Yankees have yet to make a decision on who will start Wednesday in Baltimore, either Pineda or Esmil Rogers.
If Pineda doesn't, he will take part in another minor league rehab, pushing his pitch count from 72 to 90. Girardi said they will make sure Pineda is ready, rather than focusing on the opponent being the first-place Orioles.
McCann to DL? The Yankees will make a decision on whether Brian McCann needs to go on the concussion DL by noon on Saturday.
