Former Mets, Yanks -- where are they now?

UNCASVILLE, Conn. -- Several former Yankees and Mets gathered Friday night at Mohegan Sun to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the 2000 Subway Series, as part of the Connecticut Sports Foundation's annual celebrity dinner and memorabilia auction. Here's a look at what some of the people in attendance are up to now:

  • Former Mets outfielder Jay Payton: Payton latched on with the Colorado Rockies last season, but needs surgery on his left shoulder and will be officially retiring.

  • Former Mets closer John Franco: Franco works part-time for the Mets as an ambassador, and he also is involved with a website, MVPstarz.com. Franco also spends time watching his son, JJ, play college baseball for Brown.

  • Former Mets outfielder Benny Agbayani: Agbayani is a special-ed teacher, and coaches ASA softball and T-ball for his two young children.

  • Former Yankees bench coach Don Zimmer: Zimmer is entering his sixth season as a senior advisor for the Tampa Bay Rays.

  • Former Yankees and Mets reliever Mike Stanton: Stanton recently moved to Texas, is still coaching his children, and might get into television analysis for the Houston Astros.

  • Former Mets and Yankees infielder Todd Zeile: Zeile lives in Los Angeles.

  • Former Yankees infielder Moose Skowron: Skowron is entering his 11th season with the Chicago White Sox community relations department.
