Left side of Yankees infield: NunEEEEEEEEz at 3d, NEEE-no at SS

Ramiro Pena came into today's game without having made an error this season in five games. But in the first seven innings today, he had made three. In addition to the two throwing errors in the fifth that led to two Cincinnati runs, Pena allowed Drew Stubbs'  hot grounder go through his legs for his third error of the day. He atoned somewhat when he started a 5-4-3 double play on the next batter, Edgar Renteria, and then flawlessly handled Rytan Hanigan's grounder to end the inning. But now, he and his partner on the left side, Eduardo (8 Es) Nunez, have combined for 11 errors in 44 games, or three more than Alex Rodriguez and Derek Jeter combined in 129 games.
