Nova exits with tight right forearm

Things didn't go so well for Ivan Nova in Game 5. But there's a reason - according to the Yankees, he left with a tight right forearm.

Before most fans got a chance to get settled in their seats, the Tigers had a 2-0 lead off of the rookie.

First, Don Kelly, inserted at third because Jim Leyland said he "earned it", hit a Nova offspeed pitch about five rows back in the right field seats. Delmon Young followed with a solo shot to left -- his third of the series.

Nova settled down to strike Miguel Cabrera out and induced a ground ball to second from Victor Martinez.

He was pulled for Phil Hughes after getting through the second inning. Boone Logan relieved Hughes with one out in the fourth and CC Sabathia is pitching in the fifth. The Tigers lead, 3-0, with two out in the fifth.
