Gardner out all season? Brett Gardner's agent, Joe Bick, told me tonight that the possibility that Gardner's lingering elbow strain will cause him to miss the rest of the 2012 season "has got to be in the conversation'' after the Yankees left-fielder came up sore again after taking four at-bats in a simulated game in Tampa on Sunday.
Gardner is headed back to the MRI tube, possibly on Tuesday, before any further determination is made, but having been shut down three times already, the most recent for more than three weeks, it has become obvious that rest is not the answer.
I'll have a full story up on the website shortly, but the latest setback does not bode well for a return by Gardner any time soon.
