Willie throws out first pitch of Game 4
By Ian Begley
Willie Randolph tosses one from the Yankee Stadium mound on Thursday night.
On one side of town, at least, Willie Randolph is still a hero.
Randolph, the former Yankees second baseman and Mets manager, threw out the ceremonial first pitch before Game 4 of Yankees-O's. He received a hero's welcome from the crowd in the Bronx. As he should have. Randolph won six World Series with the Yankees (two as a player, four as a coach).
His tenure in Queens wasn't as successful. He managed the Mets from 2005-2008, presiding over an infamous September collapse in '07.
But, clearly, Randolph is always welcome in the Bronx.
