NEW YORK -- The normally-loquacious Mark Teixeira was uncharacteristically terse, and even cryptic, when approached by a reporter in the clubhouse this afternoon for an update on his injured right wrist, which received a cortisone shot last Sunday. According to the Yankees, Tex, who is back on the disabled list after missing the first 53 games of the season, was to be reevaluated by team hand specialist Dr. Melvin Rosenwasser either this weekend or early next week.
But when asked by ESPNNewYork.com how he was doing, Tex said, "I'm doing nothing right now. No news."
Asked if he was still experiencing pain in the wrist, which was injured while hitting off a tee back in March, Tex said, "I really don't want to talk about anything right now. We'll discuss it at the appropriate time."
