Jeter's ankle MRI negative
By Mike Mazzeo
NEW YORK -- Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter underwent a precautionary MRI on his surgically repaired left ankle following Saturday’s game. The preliminary results of that MRI were negative.
As an additional precaution, the Yankees are sending the results to Charlotte physician Dr. Robert Anderson, who originally performed the surgery on Jeter’s fractured ankle on Oct. 20, 2012.
Jeter was lifted from Saturday’s game in the sixth inning because manager Joe Girardi didn’t like the way he ran to first after notching an RBI single. Jeter appeared to injure himself while making an errant throw in the top of the sixth.
