Wednesday's lineup and notes

By Wallace Matthews

TAMPA, Fla. -- Lots of new, high-priced faces among the crew Joe Girardi is sending to Bradenton for today's first major-league exhibition against the Pittsburgh Pirates:

Jacoby Ellsbury CF
Yangervis Solarte SS
Carlos Beltran RF
Brian McCann C
Ramon Flores LF
Zelous Wheeler 3B
Dean Anna 2B
Corban Joseph 1B
John Ryan Murphy DH

Ivan Nova RHP

Notes: Eduardo Nunez was a late scratch with an apparent stomach virus ... Nova will be followed by Dellin Betances, Jose Ramirez and others ... Michael Pineda and Manny Banuelos threw simulated games on the back field this morning ... Joe Girardi said Alfonso Soriano, set back a few days by his own stomach illness, will make his spring debut on March 2 vs. the Blue Jays at Dunedin ... Mark Teixeira is not expected to play before the end of next week, probably March 7 vs. the Tigers at The Boss ... Derek Jeter's spring debut is still set for tomorrow's home game against the Pirates

There's no TV or radio today but you can follow the progress of the game via my Twitter account, @ESPNNYYankees
