April 13 Donaire-Rigo fight is a go

February, 20, 2013
Nonito Donaire thought his April 13 foe, Guillermo Rigondeaux, might not be as committed to stringent PED testing as he is, so on Tuesday he threatened to replace the Cuban with a sub. But after a few hours, Team Rigondeaux made it clear that their guy is all aboard with testing done by VADA, and so the show will go on.

A news conference to bang the drums for the Radio City tussle, promoted by Top Rank, will unfold Thursday in Manhattan.

Donaire holds the WBO junior feather title, and Rigo holds the WBA version.

For those unable to attend, HBO will televise the scrap.
